Have you a desire to broaden you horizons and learn to speak Spanish?

  • Perhaps you have concerns about driving in Spain, where you can find cheap car rental.
  • Are you considering buying a property in Spain, on the coastal resorts from the province of Malaga to the Alicante on the Costa Blanca?

For centuries Spain has been a mysterious, little-known country hiding behind the Pyrenees - a legendary place of castles, bull-fights, guitars and flamenco. It was a beautiful but rather savage country lost in the middle Ages and dreaming of past glories. It is difficult to believe that only in the second half of this century it has become a Mecca for tourist, and even more recently a wonderful place to live in.

It's 30 years since General Franco died and forty years of rigid military dictatorship came to an end, since then the Spanish people have over-whelmingly adopted a new democratic constitution and since joining the European community Spain is now a modern democracy. Its people whilst proudly Spanish also consider themselves as Europeans.

On holiday as a tourist in Spain one can get by with a few words from a phrase-book, but as a resident you should really make the effort and learn the language and meet and talk to Spaniards. The problem most of the English speakers face when arriving in the popular resorts like Malaga or Alicante province is that many of the local people speak very good English which tends to make us lazy. However, learning to speak Spanish will certainly reward you in terms of what you will get out of being in this very wonderful country.
